What is the role of a law firm management in promoting the switch to legal Tech?
As per the survey we recently conducted on our social media, 83% of the audience believe that management plays a vital role in motivating the lawyers towards technology adoption, while 17% disagreed. The results gathered from our official LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram pages showcased the audience that responded to the poll were mostly from the legal industry. This implies how essential management’s part is in the entire scenario.
This article aims to shed light on the role of management in urging lawyers to use LegalTech in their daily lives. In this case, communication is the key to progress. When a law firm elects to implement technology, the first step would be to inform the employees of the change and benefits that will take place following the implementation.
Communication will help lawyers and employees feel at ease with this change and would encourage them to try using it. Once this part is done with and the lawyers have successfully started using technology for their tasks, the management should then present a timely progress report and share it with their employees. This would act as an incentive in their work through the use of LegalTech.
Another important factor here is introducing lawyers to the people behind that technology in order to in still a human factor and build work relationships that would make the bond stronger and motivate them to use that technology.
In conclusion, as lawyers struggle to accept change and adopt to new technology, the management of the firm must evolve in communication and team-building activities that would encourage the usage of modern technology and LegalTech.
